subject: Are Ready Made Websites Really Good ? [print this page]

There are many establishments that offer ready made websites these days. Now most people who are interested in online money making venues such as affiliate marketing, digital stores and network marketing often wonder if buying a ready made website would be better than custom building a site. After all it is certainly more cost effective to opt for the ready made version.

But in reality there are several hiccups associated with ready made sites. Now you would normally find many network marketing companies offering you new shiny websites as part of the sign up package with the assurance that it will do all the selling for you while you just have to see the money in your account multiply. Of course to most people this would sound like a spectacular deal. But unfortunately most ready made websites only provide a limited amount of information to a visitor about your business and they have far too many limitations.

One of the primary problems with ready made sites is that it is almost impossible to drive traffic to them. Most search engines don't take well to cloned sites. Now if you are wondering why search engines are so averse to the idea of those sites, the answer is fairly simple search engines love sites that constantly update their information. To the web crawlers new updated information simply means that more people will find value added answers on the site, in other words the site is definitely worth visiting.

Now suppose by some miracle or rather with some SEO black hat techniques you and 5 other members of the same network marketing company do end up in the Top 5 positions on Google. You will of course receive a few visitors unfortunately when people click through the five sites to find the same information on each one of them they will simply move to the second page of the search engine or change the search criteria. Because after all you need to remember that people primarily visit websites in search of information

Another problem is that these websites with their numerous limitations often do not allow you to add video or even written testimonials.

Now you would encounter the same problems if you were to open a shopping mall with a ready made site. It would bring you back to problem no 1 ; how do you get people to visit your shopping mall and of course you will have no option to add the testimonials of satisfied clients which are very important to prospective buyers.

But if you have already paid for the website don't fret because here are some ways to save the day.

Invest in creating a custom website and redirect visitors from there to your ready made website. However, before you do so you will need to check with the company that gave you the website since some of them haven't warmed up to this idea as yet.

You could also go for article marketing and blog and forum postings and just add the Url of your website in the resource box.

And finally, if you are willing to pay for advertising, you can always go for pay per click advertising through Google.

So on a final note even though custom websites are expensive in the long run they are more lucrative than ready made websites.
