subject: Cut Price Bookseller Launches New Website [print this page]

One of the last major American booksellers has added a website and online catalogue to the already impressive collection of books, movies and music available from its vast network of physical retail locations. Half Price Books, sellers of both new and used fiction and non-fiction titles, announced in early December that its new website located at HPB.com was in the final stages of development.

With a physical catalogue of more than 120 million fiction, non-fiction, film and music titles available, the creation of the HPB website is expected to double or even treble the total sales volume of Half Price Books and compete with other online media providers like Amazon and iTunes. Previous to the cheap web hosting and launch of HPB.com the company only sold books from its physical locations.

In addition to a transaction platform incorporated into the new site, it also allows customers to find stores in their area through a store locator search function and updates users with the latest company news and events happening at in-store locations across the United States. While some titles are not yet available, the majority of the physical catalogue has been uploaded to the site and is available by mail order from the HPB.com checkout, where users can pay with all major credit and gift cards.

In an official statement, company executive VP suggested that HPB.com will allow our customers to track down a specific book they may not find in our brick-and-mortar locations. With 110 locations in 16 US states, cheap webhosting of the catalogue online will also make HPB available to a host of new customers from other parts of the United States.
