subject: Unmask The Phantom Of The Opera Broadway Character [print this page]

The Valentines Day of February is still far but if you feel like, you want to be with someone everyday and not seeing her in a day looks like a month already. Well, that is somehow can be associated to love. You are like with this man named Erik as the Phantom of the Opera. A man who tried everything just to be with the woman he fell in love with. However, like they say if you truly love someone you should let her go where she can be happy. So, he did let her go in the end.

This is a musical based on a full of love French novel by Gaston Leroux. It was presented in the year 1988 on Broadway. In fact, it has now become the longest-running musical in Broadway record. Of course, with that length of time being performed on stage it garnered millions of income already. Some production stop but their production remains strong and promising to continue what they have started.

They have gathered some awards also. These are the best actor in a musical and best new musical from Olivier Awards for the year 1986. Their Tony awards for the year 1988 are best musical, best leading actor in a musical, and best featured actress in a musical, best direction of a musical, best scenic design, best costume design and best lighting design. In the year 2002, they received an audience award for most popular show from Olivier Awards. They really did a great job for garnering those awards in the past years.

This is the story of a man lives in the opera house without the knowledge of everyone. In the novel, he used to be one of the construction workers working in the said opera house. He made some secret rooms where he stayed if he is on the house. There, he hid her self and his face with his mask. I am sure; his life is not easy hiding.

Therefore, the goodness inside will always prevails. No matter, how many mask Erik will wear if he will always be the guy who will do everything for love even if it takes to hurt him in the long run.
