Remove Antivirus 2010

No one likes viruses; if you're reading this you are most probably infected yourself. Antivirus 2010 is spyware that hides itself within your computer, attaching itself to the registry which is basically the core of your computer. If you do not remove it problems will arise & you will find yourself with a less than functional computer. Be wary of this program as it will ask you for credit card credentials & attempt you to buy the product. DO NOT DO THIS! It is a very witty trick that virus coders employ to make a quick buck.

1. Removing the program isn't very difficult in itself. A good free antivirus program should do the track. I would recommend MalwareBytes antimalware. Download this program from their website, install it & update the program.

2. Once the above has been completed, you may find yourself having difficulties running the program to commence a scan. This is prevented by Antivirus 2010 & is by the viruses design; this is why it's such a nasty bit of software. I would advise starting into safe-mode if you encounter this problem

Safe Mode: To start your computer into safe mode do the following;

i) Turn your computer off (hold in power button for 4 to 5 seconds until the computer turns off completely

ii) As you turn your computer back on, keep tapping the 'f8' key non-stop until you see a menu stating options with 'safe mode' & so on. Select 'safe mode with networking' with the keyboard arrow keys & tap 'Enter'.

iii) It will be a slight delay until the computer starts into windows but be sure to click OK or YES through any prompts. In safe mode your computer icons may be larger than normal; this is OK.

3. You should now be able to run a scan. MalwareBytes should have created an icon on your desktop; use this to open the program & run a scan

4. Once the scan has completed you will be able to select the 'remote viruses' option & reboot your machine by selecting Start > Restart.

5. Once the computer starts back up into normal mode, I would advise looking through your computers C: drive, where most of your programs/data will be stored. There can be remnants of the virus so it is important you do a FULL search with All Hiddens Files included.

6. After locating your way to the C: drive from 'My Computer' select 'F3' from your keyboard. Search for 'All files & folders' with keywords 'antivirus'. If anything is found during the search, delete them by holding down SHIFT + DELETE.
