Xbox 360 Packages - Core? Premium? What Are These Two Flavors of Xbox 360 Packages?

Two versions of the Xbox 360 Packages has been disclosed by Microsoft.

Behind Door #1 is "the core system." This console is directed squarely at noobies. Gamers who are still trying to earn their stripes.

Behind Door #2 is the "Premium Package."

Let's just say that "noobs need not apply." This baby's for the hard-core gamer.

You really can't compare the two Xbox 360 Packages, the difference is that enormous. It is very much also reflected in the price. In fact, they are $100.00 apart, to be exact.

So what do you get when you ply open the ol' packaging? Tri-core processors, for one thing (both have them.) Those babies purr along at a cool 3.2 gigahertz.

They also sport these shining examples of Neuvo Wave technology:

500 megahertz ATI graphics chip

512 megs of RAM

integrated Wi-Fi capability

Boldly going where no Xbox 360 Packages have gone before, the Premium Package has a beautiful Premium Chrome Finish.

It also comes with the following:

Ethernet Cable for online gaming

Wireless Controller

20GB Hard Drive

Component HD AV Cable

Xbox Live Headset

The Core box includes these nifty items:

white console

WIRED Controller

composite AV cable

So who's the Premium a best-fit for?

Well, keep in mind, you're gonna need hard drive space if you intend to play a good range of native Xbox titles with any Xbox 360 Packages. Specifically, in order to save games & settings, you need to have 1) hard drive; or 2) memory unit.

And if you've a hankering to go head-to-head with Cousin Billy on the other side of the country (a/k/a "online gaming") as well as do cool stuff like voice-chatting (!) with your loved ones & good friends, you'll need one of those as well.

But it doesn't stop there. No, siree. If you want to voice-chat the mem unit or hard disk drive aren't the only requirements. A HEADSET is another must-have for you to be able to communicate with Xbox 360 Packages.

Ok, great, you may be thinking - but really, what's the bottom line?

Well, the bottom line is this: to experience the absolute best results out of your Xbox 360, you will definitely want to go with the Premium package, no doubt about it. There has never been a more exciting time to buy Xbox 360 Packages.
