New team vows to continue the excellent work of the team led by R Ramaraj
Chennai, January 18, 2011: TiE CHENNAI, the second largest chapter of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur) in South India with over 90 Charter Members and 300 Associate Members, today presented the new team at helm at the chapter before Chennai media. Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice-chairman of Cognizant technologies and ex-Chairman of NASSCOM would lead the team as the President with tenure of 3 years.
Announcing the new team, R Ramaraj, outgoing President of TiE CHENNAI said, TiE CHENNAI has had great momentum in the past 5 years with significant growth in membership, higher visibility and the number of events and initiatives growing exponentially. TIECON Chennai, our flagship event is today the largest congregation of entrepreneurs in the state and growing from strength to strength. We have also mentored another chapter in Coimbatore activities. The opportunity ahead is to scale further and chart new paths. In Lakshmi we have someone who has the vision, the experience and the commitment for this mandate. I wish him and the new team well and will always be around to be of support as and when needed.
Accepting the new responsibility, Lakshmi Narayanan, President, TiE CHENNAI said, The team led by Ramaraj has done a wonderful job in the past years bringing TiE Chennai to where it is today and I look forward to carrying and building on the strong foundation laid by his team. Membership expansion and taking it beyond the IT and BPO sectors will be a key area of focus followed by adding to and reinforcing our initiative in mentoring. We are also exploring one major strategic initiative details of which we would be able to share later once crystallized. These would be from among TIEs charter of networking, education and mentoring. Am personally excited and look forward to working with the great team we have.
