subject: Dirt Bike Racing Equipment Could Save Your Life [print this page]

Dirt bike racing has become quite a popular sport with millions of faithful fans and thousands of participants. It takes strength, courage, balance and skill, but it also requires the right gear. We have all seen them, and chances are you can spout off a few key items like helmets, boots and gloves, but do you know about the pads, jackets, and pants? The gear is almost as diverse as the various parts for the bike, and it is important that you get the gear that is right for you.

There is a lot of different gear out there, and a lot of it is interchangeable from regular motorcycles and dirt bikes, and they come in every size imaginable, from kids to quadruple XL. No matter what type you are getting into or what vehicle you will be riding; there are a few standard pieces you will want to make sure you have. These are some of the more obvious ones mentioned above, namely the helmet, gloves, and boots. These are basically the bare minimums you want to wear when it comes to off road motorcycle gear, but there are others you'll also want to look into.

You also want to look into a high quality jacket. Depending on where you live, a heavy jacket may not seem like the greatest thing to wear, but believe me when I say that it is something you want to have and not need than need and not have. Jackets come with and without padding, but you would be better off getting the ones with pads. That way the jacket protects your skin and your joints, rather than just your skin. The racing pants are very similar, in the sense that they have the interior pads to aid in fall or crash protection.

There is a lot of gear out there, and it varies not only in quality and type, but price as well. A higher price does not necessarily mean better quality, so be sure to keep an eye out for affordable gear. There are countless motorcycle and motocross shops throughout the states, so finding your affordable off road and cheap ATV gear shouldn't be too difficult.
