Having worked as a therapist for many years I came into contact with a lot of people who had OCD, and I do know it can be a debilitating illness. You cannot see it or touch it but the person who has it can go through hell while they suffer from it. Very often they are gripped with fears or thoughts that we can only imagine, and it can take over their life.
I helped a lot of people with this problem and found that on their road to recovery many of them needed support but could not get it from their family or friends because they did not understand. They really need support from others who have had it or have it.
With this in mind, and as I am now retired, I have searched online so that I can find somewhere suitable to recommend you to. It is very important to me that when someone contacts me and asks me where they should go for this I send them to somewhere that can really help.
There are a few mental health forums online but not necessarily ones I would say are suitable or genuine, but I did find one that I am happy to recommend.
You can find it at OCD forum, and it is free and run by a very capable and caring therapist called Samantha South, who has a great deal of experience, is well qualified, has helped lots of people, had famous clients and written for magazines and newspapers. I am very fussy about which sites and therapist to recommend but have no doubts about this one.
