Samsung, the electronic giant, is coming up with LTE ready smartphone, Samsung Forte for MetroPCS.

The smartphone features horizontal sliding QWERTY keyboard, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 5 mega pixel camera, TouchWiz and possess Android 2.2 platform.

Look and Feel

Samsung Forte boasts of good looks with wide screen and high resolution.

It has a matte finished side slider QWERTY keyboard which will be big enough for comfortable typing.

It also has a rear facing 5 mega pixel camera which features auto focus and shoots videos in high resolution.

There are slots for microSD and microSDHC for memory expansion. It uses microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer.

Features

The phone is LTE (1700/2100) ready for MetroPCS mobile phone carrier. It's operating frequency is CDMA (800, 1700/2100, 1900) with CDMA data 1xEV-DO rev.A.

It boasts a full multi touch screen with features like proximity and light sensor.

The smartphone will run Android 2.2 version and powered by Hummingbird processor of 1000 Mhz. There is a possibility that Samsung Forte may get Android 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade.

Its a complete multimedia phone with music player, video playback, audio/video streaming and also compatible with You Tube player.

It also has an built-in accelerometer with the help of which the screen automatically changes from portrait to landscape and vice versa, according to the position in which it is held. It also has a compass for accurate directions.

It supports HTML internet browsing with built-in online service support for Facebook and Twitter.

The location based services are supported by integrated GPS turn by turn navigation.

The phonebook of the smartphone has features like caller groups, multiple numbers per contact, search by both first and last name, picture ID and ring ID.

The messaging supports by predictive text input and Google Talk instant messaging.

For connectivity it features Bluetooth 3.0 version and WiFi (802.11 b, 802.11 g, 802.11 n).

The microUSB slot is used for mass storage, charging, computer synchronization and OTA synchronization.

In many aspects, Forte resembles SCH-R910 which was leaked for MetroPCS a few days back. The smartphone is expected to be a hit among the users. The pricing details are yet not available.
