In Thailand there is an amazing amount of birds to see, there is so many different varieties of species that you will see in the bush or jungles in Thailand. Many tourists are enjoying the eco tourism in Thailand which you can see some of the most rarest species of birds.

Thailand has 987 species of birds which is 1/10th of of the worlds birds being found in Thailand, If your a bird watcher, no matter if your a beginner or an advanced, it is a great adventure while looking for the birds. With many tour operators having bird watching tours, you can also get agreat understanding of the local culture, the only requirement is that you will need to love the outdoors and being with nature.

Some of the great places to see birds is:

Southern Thailand: Phuket, Khao Sok, Chiang mai, Phand Nga, Krabu Taruto, Koh Phi Phi, Similan Islands. Khao Luang, Thale Noi, Khai Nam Khang and Khao Pu.

Central Thaialnd: Khao Yai, Kaeng Krachan and Khao Sam. They also have many birds in outer Bangkok around the cities

Northern Thaialnd: Doi Inthanon,Doi Ang Khang, Doi Suthep, Doi Lang and Doi Angkhang.

Khao sok is arguably the best places for bird watching in Thailand as you will find most of the species here. Some of the amazing species include the Siamese Fireback, Mountain Hawk Eagle, Scaly-breasted Partridge, Coral Billed Ground Cuckoo, the Black-backed Forktail, Chestnut-flanked White-eye, Long-tailed Minivet, Collered Owlet, Hume's Pheasant, White-bellied Redstart, Stripe-breasted Woodpecker, Sapphired Flycather and the Crested Tree Swift.
