subject: What Does 4g Internet Offer You? [print this page]

If you have not yet signed up for 4G Internet, it is time to think about what is holding you back. Perhaps you have not really considered all that this new high-speed wireless Internet service has to offer you. Below, you will find a list of some of the most convincing reasons that exist why you should join your local fourth generation mobile network right away.

1. In terms of mobile access, it is better than WiFi. This is true for a number of different reasons probably more than can be counted. If you have ever used WiFi technology to get online from a public place, you ought to be well aware of the multiple frustrations that this can cause. First of all, there is the problem of not being able to find an open network. Because heavy traffic on a WiFi network can reduce connection speeds, a lot of people choose to restrict access to their network by protecting it with a password. There are some open networks, but they can be hard to come by. Often, you will have to buy something or at least ask for a password in order to get WiFi service. Then, once you get access to a WiFi network, you cannot stray very far. WiFi networks, which are LANs (short for Local Area Networks) come with relatively small coverage areas, and if you move too far away from the router delivering your signal, your connection is likely to be dropped.

When you sign up for 4G service, all these issues will disappear. For starters, as WANs (Wide Area Networks), these networks come with coverage areas that extend much, much further than those provided by their WiFi counterparts some are as large as entire cities. On top of that, when you connect to one of these WANs, no matter where you are, you are connecting using your own personal account, rather than someone elses. This allows for truly unprecedented levels of mobility and means you will never have to worry about getting a password ever again.

2. The next thing that 4G Internet offers you is speed. Before this technology was developped, it used to be that you were forced to choose between mobility and broadband speeds. Now you do not have to make such a decision because you can have both. In addition to being everywhere you go, 4G service also delivers the types of connection speeds that you might be used to seeing with a wired service like DSL or cable. These are the speeds necessary to do things like stream video and music content, download and upload files, play interactive web-based video games, and overall have a more convenient online experience than you would with a slower service like dial-up or 3G.

3. Last but not least, there is the price. You may find it difficult to believe that such a groundbreaking technology could possibly be affordable, but the truth is that it is easy to find a 4G service plan that fits nicely into any budget.
