Myopia Correction Can It be Done Naturally?

Myopia (or nearsightedness) is very common, affecting up to 40% of Americans by some estimates. As with most vision issues, there are several problems with corrective lenses (glasses and contacts) the cost and the hassle of dealing with them. Because of this, sooner or later almost all nearsighted people look into myopia correction.

To get rid of glasses or contacts there are currently 2 options available; surgery and natural vision improvement. Both provide very similar benefits, but surgery is riskier and more expensive. Plus, it only deals with the symptom (poor vision), and doesn't address what has caused nearsightedness in the first place.

Natural myopia correction involves understanding that your eye is under constant near point stress, and gives a methodology to overcome this.

The first step is to relax your eyes. This is done via palming, which is essentially covering your eyes with your hands while they closed. Consciously relax the muscles of your eyes and forehead, and once you feel relaxed stay that way for a few moments.

Next, while keeping your eyes relaxed, perform eye exercises, such as swinging. This is an eye exercise where you track the movement of an object through your plane of vision. You can also try focusing drills, which concentrate on focusing on near and then far away objects in an alternating pattern. There are other exercises as well.

The final piece is to know when to take a small break from myopia inducing activities. If you've been reading a book, or strain into a computer screen for hours you need to give your eyes a break from focusing up close for so long. In fact, this actually dovetails nicely into chance to do some eye exercises.

You should notice a change in eyesight quickly. Your vision won't become gradually clearer, rather, there will be moments of clarity quickly, and with continued practice those moments will become more regular until that is the way you see.
