Why tea is tops because drinking green, oolong or black tea boost the mind and body. The teas are packed with properties. There were always talks about green tea and all the health benefits that seemed almost too good too be true. Green tea reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer, it is high in antioxidants, benefits bone health, reduces inflammation in arthritis and has a positive effect on cholesterol. What about the other teas?

It is proven that green tea has more antioxidants than any other teas. The list goes on because more studies were done on green tea than other teas. Now that studies are done on other teas it is discovered that they all have unique benefits.

The main teas are green, oolong and black tea and are derived from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis. Green tea is unfermented leafs, oolong partially fermented and black tea most fermented. Black tea is the mostly consumed by people. It is the normal tea that we buy at our local store. The more fermented the tea, the less antioxidants it will have.

Herbal teas are not derived from the Camellia Sinensis plant. The herbal teas rooibos and honeybush have different antioxidants than green,oolong and black tea which means that they provide different benefits. Because the herbal teas are not from the Camellia Sinensis plant, they are caffeine-free.

Which tea is best?

Black tea: Drinkers have a lower risk of a heart attack or stroke. The tea is known to relax and expand the arteries in the heart, thereby increasing bloodflow. It lowers the risk of cancer. Help prevent the development of tooth cavities and reduce plaque.

Oolong tea: Help prevent skin damage such as dark pigmentation and premature skin ageing. Help control weight gain. Improve symptoms associated with kidney and spleen ailments.

Green tea: Good for arthritis by reducing inflammation in the joints. The high antioxidant reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease and helps lower cholesterol. Eases cold and flu symptoms. Benefits bone health.

Rooibos tea: Its antioxidant reduces the risk of cancer. Relieves stomach cramps. It is caffeine-free which makes it safe for pregnant women, children and babies. It wards off allergies and help the body to cope with allergies.

Honeybush tea: It is caffeine-free and good for people who suffer from headaches, insomnia, hypertention, nervous tention and mild depression.

Camomile tea: The antioxidants may help prevent complications from diabetes such as loss of vision and nerve and kidney damage. It is good for cold and flu syntoms. Relieves backache and pain associated with rheumatism.

Peppermint tea: The menthol helps soothe the tummy. It eases irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and colic in babes. Help with bad breath. It can help with mild ashma.

We cannot say which tea is the best because they all have health benefits. You should drink the tea according your taste. Drinking any tea contributes to a healthier lifestyle.
