The life blood of any MLM business is leads. Lead generation for you MLM business needs to be a top priority. The question is, though, how much do you need to spend on lead generation in your MLM business in order to get quality leads?
Some will tell you that the more money you pay for a lead, the better quality lead it is. This is actually not true in many cases. In fact, lead generation for an MLM business can be done for little or no money.
The bottom line is that you can generate good quality leads by paying for them and by not paying for them. I actually recommend ultimately using a combination of both strategies.
If you are just starting out or are on a limited budget, however, start off with lead generation for your MLM by the free methods. One of the biggest mistakes people make in trying to build an MLM business is spending themselves right out of business.
What you want to do is to start off with the free types of lead generation methods, and then take the money you make from those leads and reinvest them into your business with some paid lead generation methods.
One caution about using paid leads. Don't assume that just because you paid for a lead that it is a better lead. The leads that cost you $5 - $20 a piece are many times a total waste of money! They are often either not as good as they are touted to be -- or even completely worthless. Many times when you pay this much for a lead, what you are getting is a prospect who was heavily incentivized and promised a $25 gift card at Home Depot just for filling out their information in the form.
So if spending big bucks for leads is not the "holy grail" of lead generation for an MLM business, then what is? Well, as I said, if you are just starting out or are on a budget then YOUR holy grail for leads should be one of the free lead generation methods.
Two of the best ones are article marketing and video marketing. Article marketing is one of the easiest free methods of generating quality leads. The "dividends" for the time spent writing and posting these, however, come back to you ten-fold. Once the search engines pick up one of your articles, you will have a source for lead after lead to find you. The same holds true for video marketing.
So while you may generate leads more slowly with the free methods, you will be able to get a steady stream of quality leads. This will give you the foundation to be able to invest more into your business and into lead generation for your MLM as time goes on.
