God Honours Faith
God Honours Faith

God is pleased when we walk by faith and nothing pleases Him more than that. As we can see in Genesis 22, Abraham wasted no time in following God's instructions, when He told Him "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about." Genesis 22:2

By faith, Abraham did just as God had commanded him. "Early the next morning, Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son, Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. On the third day, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. He said to his servants, "stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you". Genesis 22:3-5.

Abraham believed and then went to see; he did not wait to see before believing! This is God-kind of faith, which God honours at all times. In Genesis 22:9-12, the Bible says," When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged wood on it. He bound his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. The he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from Heaven, "Abraham, Abraham". "Here I am" he replied. "Do not lay a hand on the boy", he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son".

God honoured Abraham's faith and he learned a lesson we would do well to learn. Following God does not have to be complicated; neglecting to follow Him is what complicates life. God is pleased when we walk by faith and not be sight. "Abraham looked up and there in a thicket, he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son" Genesis 22:13.

Abraham is the father of faith as "he reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death". Hebrews 11:19. In the long distant race of faith, we must be prepared to submit to discipline that will correct us and instruct us in our spiritual growth.

Child of God, if you have complete faith in God, without doubting or wavering, He will always meet you at your point of need. He always honours His Word and it will not return back to Him void. In conclusion, as you focus on Jesus, with faith, you will be able to accomplish many things, for His Glory. It is very important that God gets all the glory in everything that you do, with faith. May God grant you grace so that your faith can be built up and increase, on a daily basis. Amen
