As a result, in ancient times, people did not have eye glasses. So to see the matter in another way, we probably could say that glasses are the produce of modern civilization since as science and technology develops, a lot of things that may do harm to our eyes appear such as TV and computers.
We are all clear that the radiation from TV screen and computer screen will do harm to our eyes if we stare at the screen for a long time. The problem would be more serious when we are young. For example, for children, if they spend too much time watching TV, surfing the Internet or playing games online, the condition of their eyes may be worse than those who do not do like that. They may have to wear eye glassesbefore going to school or when they are at a relatively small age. Of course, for children who have to wear glasses, the glasses they are wearing are quite different from those worn by adults. Childrens glasses are made especially for them and children have to go to the optical shop regularly to have their eyes checked. In this way, they can have their glasses changed according to different results of their eye checks.
As a result of heavy study and work as well as not enough rest for eyes, more and more people are becoming high myopia. For them, there is a possibility that their children would be born short-sighted, which means their kids have to wear glasses from the beginning of their life.
See the problem of glasses as a product of modern civilization; we could see it in another way, in a way of showing beauty or personality. Since we can find and create more materials and colors or shapes for glasses, maybe some people just choose to wear glasses which in their minds are alternative or fashionable in order to show themselves out.
Just from the two points above, we can see that glasses could be regarded as a produce of modern civilization.
