Icontact is a contact management program which you access online. I use it to collect and store the real estate leads I get from my websites. I generate the sign up forms right in Icontact, put them on my website, and then the real estate leads go straight into Icontact when people sign up.
For this article I will assume that you are at least somewhat familiar with Icontact, or a similar contact management program.
(Note: Icontact has a free trial, so if you have not used it yet, give it a try)
Several ways to follow up with potential real estate clients:
1. This first one is actually not using Icontact, but very important. Call the person! If they put their phone number in to one of your forms, just call them. This is much more effective than emailing them.
2. Auto-responders. Set up Icontact to automatically email out a thank you email as soon as the person signs up. Be sure to include your contact information, and welcome them to call you for immediate service.
3. "Hot Deal" announcements. I've found that the people on my buyer list respond well when I send out hot deals. I'll watch for a great price drop, or find out about a new foreclosure coming on the market and send an email out. This keeps people interested. I've had people on my list not respond for years, and then all of the sudden want to put in an offer on one of the deals I sent out.
4. Personal email. The last two examples were mass emails sent to everyone. A more personal email to them will help them feel like you care about them as a potential client.
5. Monthly newsletter or market updates. You can automate the sending of emailnewsletters in Icontact quite easily. This way you can have a full years worth of newsletters written, and just have them get sent automatically. Of course, if you are doing a market update newsletter, you will want to write that and manually send it each month.
These are just a few ways to keep in touch with the real estate leads that you have stored in Icontact. Remember, being consistent with following up is the most important thing.
