Because of the terrible current economic climate a lot of persons have been sacked from their job due to no failing of their own...simply a group of dire circumstances...they are right now scratching their heads thinking where now? In the back of their head they have been cogitating - "should I establish my own butcher business?" Except where do you go for information like that?
So how do you run a new venture? You have forever been the one who is told what to do. Immediately the shoe is truly on the other foot - you allocate the commands now. But what commands do you give to your workers? What indicators do you send out? How do you realize if what you are doing or saying is the appropriate thing for your new butcher business? It was undemanding in the past...the boss spoke...and you did what he/she said then you got remunerated at the end of the day. This is a little harder, if you get things incorrect now, not only will you not get rewarded (or get remunerated less), your decisions could impact harmfully upon your workers.
Be thorough when operating your own business - for sure you like to make money, but not at all costs. What are the costs of business compared with just being a worker? You have more responsibility to yourself, your family and workers if you have any - they are all dependent on you for their financial safety. Gulp! Running your own business normally means working longer hours and you might not make any money from working those long hours where in the past you may have got paid per hour/day. A guaranteed salary!
However the large bank balance helps!
Having something to prove is also a great motivator. Having a sibling, spouse, parent or other important personality that is doing well in business creates a great motivation for others to attempt. Not out of a awareness of rivalry but because it is understandable to perceive the love people get from running their own business, and their own lives.
Persons have different reasons for fitting into the form of an an industrialist - we are not the same; and as such you will undoubtedly need to do business in a better way than you have seen exhibited by other bosses in prior jobs you have had.
Not many people begin their own business - most people don't have the nouse. The question is do you have it? Are you motivated to achieve something in business as well as in life?
