It is been less than one month since Acer Company launched out its Aspire One D260 netbook at Computex show. But now Acer Company just announced the new netbook with dual core, The New Acer Aspire One D255. The Acer Aspire D255 builds on the Acer Aspire One D260 (slightly confusing giving a higher spec'ed model a lower model number), by giving it the new Intel Atom N550 dual core processor.
The Acer Aspire One D255 is a rather special netbook because it comes with a dual core Intel Atom processor, with each core running at 1.5GHz boasting 512KB of L2 cache and and hyperthreading, resulting in four cores. the hyperthreading should give you a bit of a boost when performing some tasks or multitasking, although a lot of it also depends on the way the software is written in order to take advantage of hyperthreading capability.
The external of the Acer AOD255 is very similar to that of the AOD260, but it looses the chrome elements, and adds a number of extra color options. The main difference is the chipset. Aspire One D255 comes with Intel GMA 31509 integrated graphics.
The most interesting thing about this machine is its eye-catching design. The Acer Aspire One D255 netbook will come with a choice of hard drive sizes up to 250GB, a 10.1 inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024 x 699 pixel, plus integrated 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and Bluetooth for connection with your netwotk.
Further specifications of the Acer Aspire D255 netbook include a six cell battery with no mention on standby or useful life for now. Release info and price hasn't been given out, though the processor-oriented upgrade could hint at a quick turnaround. The same goes for pricing and date of availability, both of which have yet to be announced.
