Whilst working with premature baby charity ADAPT Sharon discovered it was incredibly difficult to find practical, comfortable clothing for premature babies that would actually fit. Sharon couldnt believe that suitable clothes werent available so she decided to start Teddy & Me.
What makes Teddy & Me unique?
Whilst many companies advertise premature baby clothes, often they are either too big, impractical or both. Our neonatal clothes have been specifically developed for premature, poorly and low birth weight babies, following eighteen months of investigative trials and research, involving neonatal specialists; and mums of special care babies. Designed to take into consideration any leads, drips or monitors your baby may have, theyre comfortable, practical and correctly sized.
How does running a business fit around family life?
It can be hectic at times fitting everything in and like most mums in business I often work late into the night after the kids are asleep but being your own boss has many benefits and I cant imagine working for someone else now.
What plans have you got for the future?
We have recently extended the collection to include clothes for babies up to six months of age, this range is sold via our website and through retail outlets; its currently available in five countries
including the UK. As well as developing international links with hospitals, we aim to align with other partners in key countries to form a distribution network of our retail clothes. We are also developing new products for hospital use and home care.
