No Relationship with Your Existing Recruitment Agency?

I felt compelled to write this after returning from visiting a prospect.

One of the questions I asked was: "When the last time was your current supplier came to see you?"

To my dismay, the answer was MORE than six months ago! As if that was not bad enough, the full picture is even worse. Not only had it been six months since any face to face contact but the ONLY reason that a meeting took place was so that the person representing the agency could get a customer service questionnaire filled out for their boss!!

In any service industry it is all about the relationship. People can only buy from people they know, like or trust. In the case above, my (weak) competition had no relationship to speak of and therefore it was easy to win the business from them.

When Temp Network supply staff to a customer, we are on site regularly to both build a relationship with our client and to ensure that our temporary workers are being as productive as they can.

We find building the relationship the nice part of recruitment. It is a people business and therefore demands that communication is regular and purposeful. I know we are very good value for money and look after our clients the best we can. So why is there such a barrier in the first place?

With over 10,000 different recruitment agencies chasing companies, it is easy to see why so many decision makers do not take telephone calls when we are prospecting. However, the problem comes when a business has a need for our services but there is no relationship in place which can delay the process.

Imagine being at home and a small child comes to you with a minor cut on their finger. Ideally you would get your first aid box and get an antiseptic solution of some kind and a plaster. There would be a delay in treating the injury if the first aid kit had been miss-placed or not kept stocked with the key items or worse still, if there was not a first aid kit in the home to begin with.

Well I like to think of Temp Network as your first aid kit for when situations occur that require assistance with your recruitment needs. We can provide ad hoc staff to cover unexpected sickness cover, supply a team of people to help you through your holiday season or peak trading, or send you staff to integrate with your existing workforce whilst you interview people to join your company on a full time basis. The service you receive will be the same whether you need one member of staff for a day or fifty temps for three months of the year.

However, before we can be your first aid kit ready for any emergency you may have, things need to be in place to make it as easy as possible. You need to know our telephone numbers and what the cost will be and we need to know the environment the temps will be working in and where to send our invoice!

Does it not make sense to have all these basics covered? I hope the answer is yes!

All we ask for is a 15-20 minute meeting to establish the facts. We can then build a relationship with you and be prepared for when you need us!
