A multitiered collection of planks laid on piles of bricks, was thinking of the pieces from the early period of Flintstone - & I was proud to have done it myself. Since masterpiece, I've built 50 or 60 more, especially when he worked as a cabinetmaker for an interior design company, where I learned carpentry skills, directions, design and building used in the book here. Principe, consisting of 3 plywood boxes fitted with hardwood face frame looks this play, built as it spans from wall to wall, & is trimmed with forms to roof and floor. I used three 4-in. Birch plywood for the gear, 4 four cuts sustainable African mahogany for the face frames and three 4-in. Mahogany plywood to the sides around the door. With moderate skills & patience, it'd be awkward to project fits into any space.
Making Selections
Two pieces of plywood form each side of the issues. I divided them with one 2-in .- - Thick plywood strips so that when I attached 2-in .- - Whole mahogany Stiles, they'd flush to match the plywood edges. (Contrast overhang the horizontal mahogany apron attached to the front of each shelf of plywood.)
Shelves fit into dado joints are drawn into the case sides. Since the boards should be glued & screwed into the dado, they couldn't later be changed. So I measured my books before I decided how long the shelves should be. Usually a bookcase with shelves between 7 inches and 14 inches Separation hosts most. While books generally fit in the 8 - to 9-in .- - Deep shelves, I prefer the deeper shelves, so I peeled plywood to a width of 8 1107 "
I chose to put wood face frames - stiles, rails, valance and aprons - for plywood cases with a biscuit joiner, so screws wouldn't mar in mahogany. But the quickest & easiest way is to use a pneumatic finishing nailer - then fill the nail holes with putty.
Start by building a base of 1x or 2x wood. Make her deep 1:58 in Smaller than the depth of the shelf itself. The height should be an 8 inch Greater than the baseboard moulding that you intend to instal to ensure that slides certainly into the moulds. Set the base in place & watch the level from right to left & from front to back. Attach it to the joists with 3-in. Or screws. Chewing also drive screws through the inside of the foot & the floor.
3 4-in Rip. Plywood to the width of the case sides and shelves with a table saw or circular saw and straightedge guide. Crosscut case sides to length, making them two of Shorter than the distance from the top of the base to roof. Then, all the boards cut to lenght. The shelves should be no longer than 36 inches back from having to bend under load. Before we proceed, & be over all the pieces of plywood.
