Are you interested in further study? Which subject you prefer? Is this Business Administration?

Business administration is a major subject. A major (also known as a major concentration or concentration) is a term for the specific group of courses that give you a basic knowledge of a field of study, which is in addition to your core curriculum. The business School or College will define a framework for this specialized portion of your studies, including a certain number of required courses and a certain number of "elective" courses relevant to the major.

If you are considering studying business administration or management, your post-secondary planning process should begin as early as high school. Business schools can be competitive and are rigorous; therefore, it's important to plan your high school courses accordingly. Some of the classes that you will want to take are English, speech/ communications, math and accounting to ensure that you are well prepared for the schools that make your list. Foreign language courses can be useful for schools with study abroad programs.

If you are still in high school, and are thinking about going to business school, there are several additional things that you can do to prepare and increase your chances for being accepted:

Undertake to read and study independently. This is a good way to develop interests, expand your knowledge and improve your vocabulary and reading comprehension skills needed for school. This will also help you if admission requirements include an interview, since you will be able to impress the committee with the knowledge you have built up of terms and issues specific to this area of study.
