Here they come, are you ready?

Here they come, are you ready?

At the risk of sounding like the grinch who wants to steel Christmas, the

holidays are often a weight gaining trap. A couple pieces of Sees candy

from your client, several homemade cookies from your neighbor or a little

plate of the fried little appetizers offered at the holiday party. A bite

here and a bite there, come January 1st you tip the scales between 5 to

10lbs. heavier than you were before Halloween! So what do you do? Rather than

feeling deprived, or gain the weight, here are a few tips:

1. Dont let your workouts dwindle! For that matter you may want to add an

extra day per week the whole month of December to make up for some of the

extra goodies.

2. When youre at a party, scan the whole food table before loading up your

plate. Pick only the goodies that you must have, and leave the rest.

Being really selective can save on a lot of calories.

3. Another party tip would be to bring a dish that you know is a good &

healthy choice. A nice dip made from nonfat yogurt rather than sour cream,

etc.

4. Get rid of your plate, and do your socializing as far from the food as

possible to eliminate more temptationhanging on to that plate tells your

brain your are not finished.

5. Dont come hungry. If you do and you get there and everything is either

fried or a sugary dessert you will end up eating way too much of things you

should have avoided or only just tasted.

Have fun and dont stress too much, January is just around the corner.

Ill see you at the gym, or better yet, give me a call and I can come to

you!
