There are 19 courts in the game.There are three game play modes including superstar mode, exhibition mode, and tournament mode. In Superstar mode, the player has a mission to complete. In the exhibition mode, the player will challenge another character in different courts. The courts where the player will challenge with a different character include Green Hill Zone, and Amigo Carnival Park. The celebrities will stand on the court side and cheer you during the game. In the tournament mode, the players will compete against other random opponents. In Sega Superstars Tennis, there are a number of mini games. Some of the mini games that are included in Sega Superstars tennis are House of the Dead, Puyo Puyo and Virtua Cop.Every character is equipped with a special attack. For instance Sonic can perform the Super Sonic attack. When Sonic released the Super Sonic attack, the tennis ball will fly across the court in zigzag direction.
