subject: Uk Holidays Are Holidays Abroad- Which Is Right For Your Family? [print this page] In years gone by there used to be a dedicated holiday season with families and friends looking to get away during the summer months. However, over the years this has all changed with many looking to get away during the school holidays or maybe get some winter sun. When families decide that they want a family break, they have to make some decisions and these will decide where they go. The first is whether they want to stay in the UK or travel abroad so lets look at the advantages and disadvantages of both.
Travelling Abroad
The advantages of making the trip abroad is that you are more than likely going to get better weather than the UK, especially if you are travelling abroad to Southern Europe, as most families do. Travelling to places such as France, Spain and Italy also allow your children to explore a different culture and let them try new food which is good for them. A trip abroad is always exciting and whether you are taking a flight with a low cost airline or one of the major airlines you can be sure of a good holiday with plenty of time to relax and for the kids to enjoy the pool and other activities.
The disadvantages of travelling abroad are enhanced if you have toddlers as waiting at the airport and flying can be stressful alone. In addition, trips abroad can quickly mount up and your budget may not take you that far with a bit of surprise when you get home. You may not be fully aware of the child friendly conditions of the complex you are going to either, all things that make travelling abroad risky.
Staying in the UK
When it comes to family breaks in the UK, there are places such as the holiday parks that provide something for the whole family. Whether you are looking to kick back and relax or let your hair down and get involved, you can do exactly that. You can control your spending better than you can abroad and most of the activities are included in the price. If the weather is kind, the beach locations give you somewhere to walk down and relax on as well. Of course, the disadvantages are that you are unlikely to get the kind of weather and culture that you would get abroad but the decision is ultimately yours.
