How To earn more money for your car wash fundraiser!

Nearly every group I know has tried a car wash as a fundraiser. They are particularly popular with youth groups at churches and schools. While you can generate a substantial amount of money in a day, how about adding a new layer to your fundraiser by having a business sponsor it for you. Consider having a flyer that you can hand out for special events or notices or even coupons from a local business. You can create a flyer and offer space on it for advertising and have many sponsors. Let them know the amount of cars you anticipate will be at your event or how many were at your last car wash and come up with a reasonable amount. Maybe it is a flat fee or $x per car that you hand the flyer out to (although then you have to collect later so the flat fee may be a better option).

Look for local businesses that are already advertising coupons and specials, especially if they are timed near the date of your event. If you can get 5-8 businesses to give you $50-$100 for the space on your flyer, that will generate some additional revenue for you. Make sure to let your sponsors know how well you did. You can even add the sponsors' names to your signs and give them additional exposure for an extra fee. You should be able to garner at least an extra $200 and maybe much more. Try it and let me know how it goes for you.

I have been helping my church and other groups do fundraisers for around ten years now and I am always looking for ways to make them more creative and profitable.
