CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) is an American television series produced since 2000.The events of the series revolve around the team's investigation of the "night shift" of forensics in Las Vegas.The search for evidence to link crimes and their perpetrators is the main purpose of the team, making use of every means offered by technology, by science and rationality of the individual components. All episodes are shot in the studios of Santa Clarita, near Los Angeles - outside Las Vegas.
Given the success of the series, two spin-offs were created, which are broadcasted simultaneously: CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. The series were premiered on CBS in the United States.
The Main characters
Gilbert "Gil" Grissom (Seasons 1-9), played by William L. Petersen. Grissom is the team manager.Introvert (as a child playing with dolls, and this was teased by peers), a brilliant and fascinated by the macabre, then he became a biologist specializing in entomology.He has a deaf-mute mother and this helped him to learn sign language. Because of a hearing impairment (later resolved), Grissom can read her lips easily. He permanently leaves the science during the ninth season.
Raymond Langston (Seasons 9-pending), starring Laurence Fishburne. Langston is a doctor specializing in forensic pathology.In season nine, he officially joined the lab to replace Grissom (who chose to leave the lab to get together with Sara Sidle).
Catherine Willows (Seasons 1-pending), played by Marg Helgenberger. Catherine has a past as a stripper.She holds a degree in medical technology, specializes in the analysis of blood stains.She is a divorced single mother who has a daughter whose biological father is Sam Braun, owner of several casinos and hotels in Las Vegas.He is currently head of the team. Grissom has since dropped out of science.
Gary Dourdan plays Warrick Brown (Seasons 1-9). Warrick had to do it alone as a child: Warrick`s mother died when he was 7 years old and he grew up without a father.He began working for the casino and began studying at the same time.Later he became an influential member of the scientific studies in Las Vegas. He also has a gambling addiction. He will marry during the sixth season, but his marriage is not going to roll.Mortally wounded in the last episode of season eight, he is lies the arms of Grissom in the first minute of the first episode of the ninth season.
Nick Stokes (Seasons 1-pending), starring George Eads. Having obtained a degree in Criminology, Nick specializes in the analysis of fibers and hair.
Sara Sidle (Seasons 1-8, 10-under), played by Jorja Fox. Having obtained a degree in Physics, Sara specializes in the analysis of materials.Previously, she had an alcohol problem.Her father, an alcoholic and violent man, was killed by her mother and that is why Sara was raised in an orphanage.She had an affair with a paramedic, but is in love with Grissom, though he seems afraid to reciprocate.At the turn of seasons seven and eight, their love story is made public, but after a few weeks, Sara decides to leave the scientist. Jorja Fox leaves the stage after the 7th episode of season eight and returns as a guest,in five episodes of season nine, then returns as a recurring character in season ten, episode sixteen.
Greg Sanders (seasons 1-pending), played by Eric Szmanda. Greg is a lab technician specializing in DNA analysis (in the fifth season he will join the investigation team).He joined the cast officially in season three (in the past he was only a recurring character).
