subject: The 2011 Audi Tt Refresh [print this page]

Audi has been producing the TT since 1998, it is a two door sports car manufactured in Gyor, Hungary. The Audi TT is available as a 2+2 Coupe or a 2 seat roadster, the TT is based on the same platform as the Audi A4, enabling it to share many core components such as the engine layout and suspension.

In line with Audis quest to produce smaller more fuel efficient engines, the Audi TT designers and engineers were given the task to improve the 2011 model of the TT. The designers and engineers rose to the challenge and produced a new model that combines distinct styling refinements with fuel efficiency boosting technology, including a newly adopted 2.0-litre TFSI engine, which improves fuel economy by up to 14%.

The 2.0 litre Turbo FSI engine in the 2011 model has to be the highlight, it employs Audis valve lift technology to make improvements in power, torque and overall efficiency compared with its 200bhp predecessor. The new engine produces 211bhp and 350Nm of torque; it propels the Audi TT from 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds, an improvement of 0.5 seconds on a used Audi TT in Norfolk. The top speed of the new model has also increased from 149mph to 152mph.

If the performance figures werent impressive enough check out the fuel efficiency figures, it has improved fuel economy from 36.7mpg to 42.8mpg, and cuts back CO2 output from 183g/km to 154g/km.

The Audi TT 2.0 litre TDI was a ground breaker in the sports car segment, and it continues to set fuel efficiency standards. In a combined cycle test the 2.0 litre TDI TT can achieve 53.3mpg and output only 139g of CO2/km. It has 170bhp, can do 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds and go on to a top speed of 140mph.
