The public bus service in Miami operates seven days a week and has enough routes to cover all of the Miami area. The buses are inexpensive but can sometimes be extremely crowded. Buses do not operate late at night. The metrorail serves most of the Miami-Dade county areas. Cards for travel on the metrorail must be purcharsed at a rail station as cash is not accepted. Metrorail runs 7 days a week from 5 in the morning until midnight.

Taxis can be a convenient way to get around the city but are expensive if trips are very long. When calling a taxi from anywhere outside a hotel service is not always reliable

Car rental in Miami ranges from small inexpensive cars to expensive luxury automobiles. Renting a car in Miami is the most convenient way to see the city. In the long run it also may be the least expensive.
