This years Valentines Day is near on the way, and most of my female colleagues have stared to spare no effort to look for fancy gifts for their boyfriends. Some of them decide to choose the luxurious accessories; some of them choose fashionable clothes and bags and some of them choose to buy jewelry such as rings. It is blameless that they devote so much to the gift idea since they are just following the suit of the mainstream in current society. However, there is still a group of people, including me, who have decided to abandon the gift ideas such as those listed above. Instead, we decide to do gifts by ourselves.
Some people may think that DIY gifts are too out of date with the amazing social progress. Well, as the saying goes that the most simple-hearted gifts always lead to the sweetest memory in spite of that those DIY gifts may be less expensive than those fancy ones. If your boyfriend understands that, you will be the sweetest girlfriend in his mind.
I adopted the idea of DIY gifts on last years Valentines Day as well as I did really receive sincere appreciation form my boyfriend Mathew. Last year, I sent him a handmade scarf as the gift for Mathew. In the very beginning, when I heard about the idea of making scarf, I also doubted its effect since a lot of young people today did not favor that traditional idea. Moreover, I did not know how to make a scarf in the beginning. However, during the process of my learning, I believed that it is not only a process of my learning how to make a scarf, but also a process that I could review our love. During the several days when I was preparing that scarf, I reviewed each sweet moment between Mathew and me, which reminded me that Mathew was such a nice boyfriend that I should also become a nice girlfriend for him. After I finished it, I was especially happy, even happier than before when I finally found the fancy gifts in a remote store. On the Valentines Day, when Mathew saw my that scarf,, he was pretty surprised and claimed that he would show it to his colleagues who thought that no girl would like to make a gift for boyfriend in current society. He appreciated the simple-hearted gift very much.
As a result, I decide to adopt the idea of DIY gifts again. Perhaps I will make a cake for him to memorize our sweet love together. I cant help thinking of the sweet smile on his face on count of that handmade scarf. It really brings us the beautiful memory.
