The second thing to do is to remove the two plastic buttons on the shade. They will be level with the strings which run vertically in your shade. Pry those plastic buttons out using a nail file or a butter knife. Place that plastic button in a secure place. Now you will see the place in which the end of the string is tied. Then, untie them and detach the bottom slat of the window shade. Remove all the slats and then attach the bottom of the shade to its original position and then tie the string securely.
The third step that you have to do is to replace the button of the plastic. At this time, the measurement of the shade should be able to perfectly fit the window.
