The Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands

Situated in the calm waters of the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands consist of three islands, Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman brac. The island sit south of Miami and are easily accessible from mainland America, but offer a little piece of paradise not found elsewhere.

Part of the British overseas territory, the Cayman Islands have a total land mass of less than one hundred square miles. The islands have world renowned diving sites, and there is something that keeps visitors coming back for ore, whether it is the sun, sand or brilliantly clear waters. You can windsurf here, or if you don't fancy getting wet but want to immerse yourself in the amazing nature, then why not go down to the bottom of the sea in a submarine to see the tropical fish and sea life that resides there. You can also take a trip out on a boat and experience the unofficial national sport of fishing. There are local tournaments that you can partake in if you are a serious fisher.

The Cayman Islands offer a lot of heritage for the discerning traveller, with the cultural foundation putting on cayfest every summer. This is a non profit organisation and serves the country their cultural background. They also put on some high quality theatrical productions for the entertainment of the citizens.

When the sun goes down, the island doesn't sleep. There are nightclubs offering jazz and dance music, and you can dine in an open air restraint and watch the world go by.

If you are planning on visiting the islands this summer, make sure you have a valid passport and Travel Insurance policy.
