Being the practical shopper I claim to be, I am always on the lookout for good eats at prices that are equally good for my wallet. So when I discover such a place, I naturally shout with glee and do the happy dance, then proceed to write about it.
What makes me happy are the fantastic Rice Meals at Red Lemon Grill, the main dining place at View Park Hotel Tagaytay that is fast becoming the go-to place for satisfying meals at affordable prices. When I see rice meals on a menu, I automatically think of a bowl of rice topped with your viand of choice. Red Lemon Grill's rice meals are all below Php 100 and I chose the Binagoongan Rice Meal while my Significant Other chose Fried Chicken Rice Meal.
After a short waiting period, what came out of the kitchen were good-sized portions of dishes, appetizingly arranged on a regular dinner plate. No bowls! The food looks amazingly tempting, not like a value meal package at all. Hmmnow for the most important part, the taste testDelicious! The Binagoongan had that perfect blend of sweet and salty and juicy. Definitely not too salty like most dishes bearing the name. The fried chicken is crispy and tender at the same time. We were definitely happy campers that time, and left the table with full stomachs (burp!).
I had a craving to try the other rice meals they offer, knowing that each would hit the perfect combination of taste, price and size. Red Lemon Grill offers a number of rice meals sure to meet all food preferences - Chicken Pork Adobo (Php 75), Daing na Bangus (Php 80), Fried Chicken (Php 80), Binagoongan Baboy (Php 80), Beef Tapa (Php 80), and Chopsuey (Php 75). This practical shopper is ecstatic at finding such great value meals (definitely a better deal than what passes for "value meals" at popular fast food joints) in a place that allows you to chill out and enjoy your food in quiet. No crowds, no noises from people talking at the same time, and mercifully, no loud music to compete with conversations with your SO. Best of all, Red Lemon Grill takes advantage of its Tagaytay location - cooler temperatures and lots of greens - to offer diners a healthier eating alternative (yep, easier on my ears!)
Rice Meals at Red Lemon Grill are just part of an extensive menu offering everything from soups, starters, main courses and desserts. For now, they are the perfect reasons for me to indulge in my passion to take a break in Tagaytay, without affecting my budget. I can have cake (the sinfully delicious ice cream cake) and eat it too, literally.
