subject: Hair Replacement For Men [print this page] You are 26 years old and you are already starting to go bald. You have a real problem and you better be able to handle it. There is no rule that says you have to be so concerned about your looks that you cannot still go through life and be perfectly happy, while you are gradually or not so gradually losing your hair. You just have some considerations whether you are in the first stages of balding, or already partially or fully bald. Balding is caused by excess male testosterone.
That's right the same stuff that makes you machismo also makes you go bald. How ironic! It is not uncommon for men who are losing their hair on their heads to have massive amounts of body hair everywhere else. The problem is not so much your physical appearance, although studies have shown that women do respond very differently to bald men when compared to men with full heads of hair. What is important is how you feel about it. This is all about your own self esteem. If you don't give three sheets about losing your hair and at the first sign of doing so shave your head and bask in the glory of your baldness, then there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
If on the other hand, each time you look in the mirror you take a imaginary hammer at the image of yourself looking back at you, to further chip away at your self esteem, you should seriously consider taking steps to do something about it, because it will most definitely seriously affect your internal happiness which makes for a negative outcome in life. It seems so silly that a full head of hair has the power to do this, but it does.
Fortunately, there are many things you can do about it. If you have male pattern baldness, you can use a daily application of Rogaine (that you get with a doctor's prescription). Male pattern baldness is the kind that only affects the top of the man's head in the back at the crown area. It is the same place where Jewish men cover their heads with a small circular hat when they enter the synagogue.
Hey, maybe they do that to cover up their bald spots. But this Rogaine treatment does not work if your baldness is starting in the front top of your head, which is what is called a receding hairline. You can spray all the Rogaine you want in that area, but it isn't going to work. If you have a receding hairline, you need to consider hair replacement. This is where they take some hair that is still very healthy and growing - like from the back of your neck - and transplant it to the front top portion of your head to replace what has been lost.
This is real hair, your hair and although the procedures are long and expensive, they do work and you will once again have a full set of hair. You can cover up with a toupee', which is a wig for men, as well, but I have never seen any that look very good.
