Mercedes Boston customers will appreciate technology and comfort of 2011 CL-Class

Mercedes has put out another impressive model with the 2011 CL Class. Why should this surprise us, though? They have been building cars for almost 125 years and they've gotten pretty good at it. Many of the larger Mercedes models are still built in Stuttgart. (For the geographically-challenged, that's the Detroit of Germany.)

Any so what if Mercedes-Benz wants to brag a bit and build up their 125th anniversary as a big deal? Haven't they earned the right to celebrate just by staying in business for that long? Absolutely. So Mercedes Boston dealers will just celebrate along with them while they sell the 2011 C-Class.

The CL Class is big, with a rather big price tag to match, but it's packed with technology and is a comfortable ride. Coming into 2011 with a freshened look and new engines it remains a real contender in the luxury/power category. The CL550 4MATIC and CL63 AMG are tough competition

To increase the fuel economy, Mercedes-Benz scrapped the old engines and replaced them with twin-turbo V8s - much smaller. The surface changes are small - basically some reshaped lights and grille, but the engine changes are enough to sell the car. Rhode Island used Mercedes G-Class buyers will not be disappointed in the power or the profile of the CL Class.

The CL63 will now have the M157 engine, based on the M278 but with 5.5 liters of displacement. Its 536 horsepower will come out of Affalterbach, Germany where the AMG plant is located. A very specialized team of 50 builders takes on the engine from beginning to end and each engine is signed by the assembler who finishes it.

The interior will unfold with adjustable ambient lighting and French seams. You can melt into the seats and even have room to get lost in the back seats. The entire car sounds and feels solid, from the closing of the doors to the substantial control switches. Your Rhode Island used Mercedes G-Class dealer has never seen anything like the CL Class.

If you prefer quiet power, opt for the silent CL550's V8. The CL63 announces its power to the world, which some of us prefer when driving a hot car. These models are refined without being stuffy in any way and combine sportiness and luxury like nothing else.

The technology will blow away any part of you that the engine has missed. Featuring the new Adaptive Blind Spot Assist with radar sensors and Adaptive Lane-Keeping Assist, this is just the tip of the iceberg. But it is the latest and greatest.

And the CL Class is the latest and greatest your Mercedes Boston dealer has to offer. Those with the means to buy one won't want to wait. For those of us who can't quite budget over $100,000 for a car, the S-Class is the next best thing.
