I would like to introduce Mr. Simon Wilby a successful inventor. He is probably most known and renowned for his inventions, including but not limited to The_Smart_Cover and an unprecedented invention, the radio enabled dog collar.
However, let me share something about Mr. Wilby that you probablydidn'talready know. A short while ago, He was diagnosed with a serious illness called Leukemia. Getting that news was hard to say, at the least. It was at that very moment He made a promise to Himself to pay it forward. To give back to those who had nothing in the world. That's when He had the genious idea to come up with a Television show called Second Chance. Respectively named so, because He hiimself got a second chance at life. Simon Wilby wanted to pay that forward to others, and help as many as possible with the time that Simon Wilby had left to live.
During one of his shows, Simon met an incredible individual in a wheelchair, who is unable to walk. He is dog lover and has a dog named J.P. Unfortunately, J.P. was struck by a fast moving 18-wheeler and thrown nine feet into the cold air. J.P. suffered severe injuries including a broken shoulder, shattered legs, and three broken ribs.
The suggestion of the veterinarians was to put J.P. down. However on his own, armed with only his disability check and meager means, JP's owner fought and fought with all he had to save JP's life. In JP's owner's own words, "what's next..are you saying that because I am handicapped and wheelchair ridden, that I too should be put to my death?". Somehow JP's owner had an insight into what JP's pain stemmed from. Through many X-rays and checkups, he discovered that JP's main debilitating issue was that he needed to have his right front leg amputated. J.P.'s owner thought long and hard and decided that the best option for J.P. is to undergo the amputation. The surgery was successful, and J.P. was on his road to recovery.
However, he needed more surgeries to complete his full recovery. So without warning, Simon Wilby decided to make all of JP's future surgeries and medical bills no longer be the deciding factor with how JP's life would be from that point forward. Simon took all of JP's medical expenses on himself and gave JP a life scholarship, for lack of better terms.
