All roads in Lalitpur were jam packed during Rahul Gandhi's road show in the district. Standing on both sides of the road, people waited anxiously for Mr Gandhi to emerge. And once he entered into the frame, they went ecstatic. Atmosphere rendered with slogans in support of Mr Gandhi.
The response of the people gathered there was also positive. "No doubt, I will vote for Congress if Rahul Gandhi leads," said a young Ramesh during the road show of Rahul Gandhi. "See it's a fact that only the young people can change the face of the nation, and Rahul Gandhi is young and energetic, we have high expectations from him. We will go all out to help him in his nation building exercise", he added.
People from all walks of life, from far away places had come for the road show. "I have come all the way from my village which is 28-kilometeres away to see him, to touch him. His family has done a lot for the country and Uttar Pradesh; I believe that he is different from the other contemporary leaders. Only he can change Uttar Pradesh," said Manshukh, 68.
Taking a stop at different places, Mr Gandhi interacted with the people. He not only talked about the problems, but also tried to discuss the ways of solving them.
"Rise above caste and religion, then only the society can develop. Future is in your hands, we are with you and we will work for you", said Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a corner meeting at Elite Chowk in Lalitpur.
"The power of youth can change the things, it's not as tough as you think," he added.
He also addressed small meetings at Lalitpur Military Base, Veer Sawarkar Ghantaghar and Duwan.
