Be yourself. As cliche as this sounds, it's true. When you're putting on a fake show, women will see right through it and think you're trying too hard to get their attention. Everything needs to feel natural for you, which is why you must act like your normal self. We all vary our personalities depending on who we're with (family, coworkers, different groups of friends), but only to a small extent. There's no reason to be projecting an entirely fake personality.
Keep an upbeat attitude. Women like to be around a guy who's fun. If you're always moping, always quiet, or always just "there" and never really bringing something to the table, women are going to see you as a downer. All of my quiet and shy friends never get any women. Why? Because girls ignore them. They have no interest in a guy who doesn't put forth the effort to at least talk to them.
