The Survivor series Nicaragua is the current series of the popular Survivor show that airs on CBS. It is the 21st season of Survivor and it seems as if this show is yet to slow down in the ratings nor popularity. The premiere of this show was on September 15 and as always the time slot is 8pm. It has lasted over 20 years which is amazing and is still captivating viewers.
The way the Survivor show is played is simple. Ordinary average Americans are abandoned in the middle of some of the most unforgiving places on earth. They are divided into teams and they participate in challenges given by host Jeff Probst. Every three days the losing tribe must trek to Tribal Council to vote out one of their own. Halfway through the game the challenges shift to individual competitions when the tribes merge and become one. Now the game is every contestant for themselves.

The game is based on the premise Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast through winning immunity thus not being eligible to have votes cast against yourself. The players must be careful about who they send packing because after the merge a jury of previously voted out contestants starts to form and each week they return to watch the Tribal Council ceremony. At the end of the game they vote for one of the members in the finals to win one million dollars and become the next Survivor!
Generally, each season starts with a twist, something different to surprise the new castaways. Survivor is a game of adaptation, and the final two or three of each season are the players most able to adapt to their surroundings and to the people they are playing with. Survivor focuses on the people, and the social commentary that surrounds them. The game revolves around how these players can Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast.
All in all I think Survivor Nicaragua has assembled a very interesting bunch that has made this season interesting. NaOnka is so outrageous with her remarks that she is a must-see in order to hear what comes out of her mouth next, Marty is a real hard core player who is so arrogant that you hope he gets the boot, Holly is psycho, Kelly B with her disability is a nice story, Jimmy Johnson with his celebrity, etc. No doubt we will be seeing some of these people again in upcoming All Star editions which are in the works as we speak.
