"Take a look at any popular study guide and flip to the page where they give advice about the essay," Knight says. "Chances are that they've only devoted a few measly pages to mastering a standardized test essay, with techniques and methods that are just plain common sense, to be honest.
"Our future teachers deserve better than that. After all, they'll be the ones leading our children to bright futures - so we should give them all the help they can get!"
How to Find an AEPA Study Guide That Does More

Luckily, Knight has a few suggestions to help you out:
*Look for an AEPA study guide that's been developed by actual Arizona teachers, not poorly paid staff writers from a publishing house. Teachers understand the nuances of essay writing; junior admin writers do not!
*Do your best to find a guide by an independent publishing company, as they're typically the ones most willing to break the mold with testing techniques, tricks and hints.
*Look for test prep that's actually geared towards Arizona teachers and not just general teacher certification tests - they may be a bit more rare, but they're out there!
