subject: Yogurt For Yeast Infection - A Mistake? [print this page]

If you have been trying to eliminate candida for any length of time you will presumably have heard about optional home remedies. It is quite easy to become overwhemed by all the possible treatments, but two very popular options happen to be garlic and vinegar. It goes without saying, nonetheless, that safety is of upmost importance. Ensure that whatever you use has gone through it's own testing.

What You Must Know About Eliminating Candida:

The human body is full of micro-organisms and organic bacteria. If, for whatever reason, the levels become unbalanced to the rest of the body, infection will occur. Most often, you won't even be aware you have them inside of you. But there are instances when candida albicans (a natural fungus) will rise to levels that inevitably cause problems. Problems that become the experience of itching, burning and swelling. One other bacterium, and incidentally the best bodily solution against yeast infection, is known as L. acidophilus. This bacteria's purpose is to control the fungus, candida albicans.

When Eliminating Candida You Should Eat Yogurt:

You may very well be wondering what brings yogurt and yeast infection together. Whether you know this or not, the simple introduction of more good bacteria to your body gives it greater control and resistance to infection.

High pH levels within the body encourage the fungus, candida albicans, to proliferate. The good bacteria helps your body to produce more lactic acid, and it's lactic acid that keeps pH levels down.

To answer the original question, yogurt helps because it already comprises of this good bacteria. However, good bacteria are not included in all yogurts so it's important that you read the label for something along the lines of "High culture" - meaning 'comes with bacteria'. Several Tests have revealed that by consuming these yogurts daily, you can reduce and overcome the symptoms of yeast infection.

One other suggestion is to use some yogurt as a cream and apply it to the area you are suffering on your body.

If you happen to dislike yogurt there are other alternatives. In pharmacists you can buy bacteria bound tablets that you can swallow with water.

Note:

When buying bacteria based yogurt for eliminating candida, ensure that they also have no sugar! The reason for this is because sugar increases yeast production making the condition even worse!

I should also note that while studies have found a relationship between high cultured yogurt and eliminating candida more effectively, it hasn't yet been confirmed. But fortunately, the treatment is relatively cheap and side effects are at a minimum.

Prior to eliminating candida, visit your physician for his/her recommendations. If you have got a history of allergies or conditions then successfully treating your yeast issues may be more complex.

Just try to be more aware of how you are feeling after taking new antidotes.
