Staying Organized
Staying Organized

The key to getting lots of work done in a day is to stay organized, even if this means that you need to clean for an hour a day. When you are organized you can eliminate having to look for things simply because you have a system that allows you to know where everything is, and thus it helps you to be more efficient, and less frustrated.

Make a List

If you have a big office to keep organized, then you may want to take the time to keep a list of where everything is until you are able to remember it all. This is especially useful if you have just done major renovations, or have done some serious re-organizing.

This way you are not wasting your time putting things in places where they do not belong, nor will you waste your time looking for things. Just remember where you put your list, and you will save yourself a lot of time.

A list is also essential if you have several people using your office as this will help them to know where things belong as well.

Filing System

A filing system is very helpful in helping you keep all your paperwork organized, and it will save you a lot of time in the end. These cabinets are inexpensive and normally they do not take up a whole lot of room, but they do a great job.

A mini filing system can be used on your desktop to keep the things that you need to do today or in the next few days neatly organized.

Use Logic

When deciding where things should go, use your logic. This will help you to later find your items without even having to look at your list, simply because it will make perfect sense where you have put it.

This means that you would keep all your paperwork in one place. This is a nobrainer, but you would be surprised at how many people have their paperwork scattered all over the office, and then when they need something, they cannot remember where they put things.

Excess printer paper should be stored around the printer, and likewise extra pens, notebooks or anything that you will need at your desk should be kept in a drawer at your desk for easy access. This way you will never have to wonder..."now what did I do with my notebook?"
