The Optima is back for 2011 and will be better than every as it arrives in showrooms down under in January. Customers of Indianapolis car dealerships may have to wait a bit longer for the Optima, but there's no official word yet on it's arrival in the U.S.
Combining sponsorship of the Australian tennis open with the launch of this new sedan, Kia believes the positive feedback from the Paris Motor Show will continue as the car hit's the showroom in Australia. The car was designed by master stylist Peter Schreyer and is set to compete with models like the Mazda6 and Honda Accord Euro.
Schreyer has called the Optima a "bold, athletic car with visual sporting energy". What more could we ask? It was actually designed in Frankfurt, German and Irvine, California and Kia hopes it will be met with the same warm welcome as the new Sorento and Sportage models which have been wildly popular.
"With our new sedan, we have created a product that people previously would not have expected from Kia and that's exactly what we set out to achieve," Schreyer explained. "Kia Optima is more than one step ahead of the car it replaces. It's a clean sheet design that owes nothing to its predecessor."
And that may be just what makes it so impressive - clean and new is getting hard to come by in today's auto market where every brand has its look and every series is known for something. But Schreyer says Kia Optima has a "balance of muscular proportions" and "elegant simplicity" in its raked roofline. He likes that the car "radiates self-assurance and confidence from every angle".
Used Kia Indianapolis customers will like it too. "It marks a new strand in Kia's evolving design DNA with a blend of simple and fluid lines and elegant but uncomplicated shapes that draw the attention of the eye in much the same fashion as a perfectly-tailored fine Italian suit," said Shreyer. Who knew cars even had DNA?
We can also expect this car to be loaded with luxury and technology and with Kia working for months to perfect the suspension for various driving conditions, we can expect it to be comfortable as well. The new Optima may not be coming to Indianapolis car dealerships immediately, but eventually U.S. buyers will probably get a shot at this engineering wonder.
As for used Kia Indianapolis shoppers, there are plenty of pre-owned and new deals out there that will meet your budget and lifestyle needs. The Optima is not the only technologically-savvy and sleekly-designed Kia model, either. There are several 2011 models that are available in the U.S. and come loaded with everything you could want.
