A Medifast Customer Review
A Medifast Customer Review

When I was researching the Medifast diet, I spent tons of time on weight loss forums trying to seek out and find people who would share their experiences. You can read tons of information and descriptions about the diet, but it can be hard to gauge what being on it is really like. In this article, I will share my experience on this weight loss plan and will try to give you the information that I wish I had when I was making a decision about whether to give this diet a try or not.

The Basics Of Medifast: When I began evaluating this program, about all I knew about it was that Laura from General Hospital (Genie Francis) and skater Lloyd Eisler's wife (Kristi Swanson) had both just lost over 40 pounds on the diet. This intrigued me somewhat but I know that it's very common for celebrities to get paid to endorse diets when it's really their trainer who works the real magic.

Still, I was interested enough to check it out on the Internet.I googled basic phrases and also lurked in weight loss forums where people discussed their experiences. MostlyI was able to learn was that it was a high protein meal replacement program in which you eat six times per day to keep your metabolism up andencourage your body to burn it'sown fat. OK, this sounded convenient and promising, but what these things don't tell you is how the food taste and which choices you have.

The Skinny On The Medifast Food (The Good And The Bad): Luckily, I had a coworker at work who had just committed to this diet and who I was able to bribe to get her to let me taste some of the foods. (I later returned the favor when I got my own foods.) I was somewhat pleasantly surprised. The shakes are very good (which is nice because I consume a lot of them.) I also like the bars (mint chocolate and peanut butter is good), as well as the oatmeal, eggs, chili, cappuccino, and pudding. The foods I tend to give away when I order a basic package is the stew and the fruit drink. (Mostly, I order a custom package that allows me to only receive the foods I like.)

Here's the thing about thefood though. I look at it as a base with which(if I have time) I'll experiment.I take certain liberties like addingfatfree extras (sour cream, cheese, salsa, hummus, etc.). Maybe this isn't exactly as designed, but I've lost a good amount of weight, so this hasn't hurt my results at all.

The pudding is a really nice base for other things like muffins, cookies, etc.

You don't have to do this if you don't mind the routine but I like to change it up sometimes.

How Hard Is Medifast?: Well, it is a diet after all. You will have to say good bye to your secret stash (at least I had one) of junk food and wave good bye to the drive through for a while. (Although the some of the salads will do as a "lean and green meal.") But, once you have a few days behind you, you begin to get used to it. And, once you start to drop the weight, you will almost take comfort in it. Frankly, greasy foods like chips and burgers which I used to love seem almost repulsive now. Rich desserts seem sickeningly sweet. I can now get by just fine with the plan's pudding or mocha shake.

As far as hunger, it wasn't bad as I thought. You pretty much eat every few hours so there isn't a lot of time to starve. You don't necessarily have to exercise, but it absolutely helps (you'll lose weight much faster) and you will fell better too. I don't kill myself, but I do power walk and use exercise bands.Losing weight does one thing for your body while toning does something else entirely. Both combined have given me a completely new body.

My overall customer review on Medifast is very positive (and perhaps somewhat biased because I've actually been pretty happy with my results.) I consider myself a success and I'm still going pretty strong most days.
