Road to the Semifinals

Germany's bump in the road came in the second game of group play when they simply could not get their offense on track and lost to Serbia 1-0. Since that low point Germany has surged and won all their games, including a 4-1 thrashing of England in the round of 16 and a 4-0 mauling of Argentina in the quarterfinal round Saturday.
Strategy
Germany is likely to try and control the middle again like they did against Argentina, and hope to come up with some creative offense that way. That said, look for Germany (especially Klose or Podolski) to play some aggressive offense if they get the chance early as they would dearly love to put one up on Spain in the initial minutes. Spain is likely to play a more passive counterattacking game, at least in the first half, and look for la Furia Roja to try and get the ball to David Villa as much as possible.
