subject: Lg Optimus 2x Offers Stiff Competition To Competitors [print this page] The recent introduction of the LG Optimus 2X that uses the dual core processor has made a number of manufacturers around the world to rethink their strategies. Motorola is one company that has woken up so quickly that it is ready with a new phone. The new phone, the Motorola ATRIX has been recently announced by the company at the Las Vegas tech show, CES 2011. This new phone is totally out of the world when it comes to features and straightaway, the LG Optimus 2X has received a competition.
The Motorola ATRIX is the 4G phone from Motorola and even though 4G is yet to make an appearance in the UK, this new Motorola phone is expected to be launched in the UK shortly. However, the model that will be launched in the United Kingdom will not be featuring 4G. The biggest driving factor of this new phone towards the heights of smart phone domination is the 4 inch touch screen display. The resolution of the display is a whopping 540 x 960 pixels, which has not been previously seen in any smart phone screen. For the first time in a phone, biometric fingerprint reader comes as standard and this makes you think whether this phone is meant for the masses or James Bond!
Apart from that, the screen is normal in terms of features and it is the normal TFT display. It uses the very strong gorilla glass display, which seems to be used more and more commonly in mobile phones. Touch sensitive controls are present and this is more of a carryover from the previous Motorola phones. The user interface has also not seen many changes and it is the same MOTOBLUR user interface that used to feature live widgets. The phone will be having the Android 2.2 version from the box and it is more likely to receive an update after it is launched. It can easily run the Android 2.3 version, which made its debut in the Samsung Nexus S. However, unlike the Samsung Nexus S, which is a single core processor phone, the Motorola ATRIX is a dual core processor phone. It uses the 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H dual core processor to run the operating system.
Such a powerful processor usage has meant that the phone can easily play back full HD 1080 p videos without any trouble at all. The phone can play back MP4, H.263, H.264, WMV, Xvid, DivX formats at 30 frames per second. Even though only the United States will be getting the 4G version of the phone, you will certainly not be disappointed as it has a wide array of connectivity features at its disposal. The phone is powered by a battery that is rated at a whopping 1930 mAh. Such a powerful battery has resulted in this phone giving out to talk time of nearly 9 hours in the 3G mode, which is something that most phones can only dream about. The phone is slated to release in Q2 in the United Kingdom.
