The most famous tribe in Kenya is the Masai who live on the southern west part of the country. They have tried to still hold on to their cultural beliefs even when the country has been flooded by the western way of life. It is a nomadic pastoralist community traditionally. Now days, you will find some of them trying their luck in trade and agriculture. They are Nilotic speakers like the Luo and Kalenjin. There language 'maa' is very popular. They believe in god 'Engai' who they believe lives on the 'mountain of God', Ol Donyo Lengai.
They believe that their god, made cows to descend from heaven on Mt. Kenya and gave them to their first parents. As a result, all the cattle in the world are rightfully theirs. They steal them from other tribes so as they say they are the rightful owners from the beginning. The Masai people move around with their livestock looking for green pasture and water. They are however causing a conflict with the wildlife and communities around them as they graze the cattle in their land.
The Masai culture is the one that has made this community to be this famous. This is a combination of a unique dressing mode, eating, living and religious style. People all over the world come to experience life as a Masai in these communities. Their cultural practises are unique and sometimes primitive making it an unforgettable experience to be with them. There artifacts are also very original, unique and beautiful making millions of people all over to just come for them.
