Free Marketing Online Online Marketing Strategies for Beginners

I was preparing to write this article and in doing that I started looking around on the Internet for these keywords, "free marketing online" and it's no wonder people get overwhelmed. There are massive amounts of websites that show up if you enter those keywords into Google and I can imagine even for the most seasoned Internet marketer, your head would spin like the girl in the Exorcist movie. I will point out some good free online marketing tools and strategies that work.

The Internet can be a Shangri la or one of Dante's nine circles of hell. Speaking from my own personal experiences it can be a time sucking hole that keeps me from doing what I need to do. Yes, you need to use the Internet to find free marketing online tools and information that will help you build and promote an online money making machine. The problem is all the other online businesses trying to empty your pockets with their own free offers. Buyers beware! You know that the best things in life are truly free.

Time Is Money

If time is money then the Internet is money wasted in some respects. I don't know many people that can do research on the Internet for long without getting lead astray. There are many, many pretty beads (distractions) that will turn your head and take you away from what's most important and that is, building your business. Set aside a little bit of time each day say maybe 30 minutes to just wander around to satisfy your curiosity.

Do you want to build an online business using free methods? If your mind is set on getting a website up and promoting it for free, take a few minutes and jot down all the tasks you think you need to accomplish and then add the tools you need to do this.

Here is a sample plan that you could start with:

Research a niche-you need to know what to sell. Start off with stuff you know and love and take a look at Google Trends to see if it's a hot commodity. This is a free tool. Start looking around for forums and blogs that your potential customers visit to find out what they need and want.

Keyword research-Google adwords keyword tool is good for beginners. It can find the best keywords and doesn't cost a cent. Yes, there are more sophisticated tools but we are focusing on free and effective.

Website building-the best free tool is Wordpress. Simple to learn and set up and Google loves Wordpress sites. Other free sites where you can build pages include Squidoo, Weebly and Hubpages. They allow you to create pages and publish them, no charge. There are tutorials on each of these to help you out.

Market and promote-you can't just put a page or site on the Internet and expect people to find you. The Internet is too vast and complex for this. So, you need to let people know that you have a page they need to see. Some free ways to do this are: writing articles, participating in forums and leaving comments, social book marking and press releases. All of these techniques will build back links and ultimately move your website up in search engine results. If you learn how to write persuasive and interesting articles, you will have found the golden key to building traffic and promoting your pages.
