The numerous and The Countless Causes of Panic Attacks Causes

Men and women of all ages suffer from panic attacks and are confused as to what causes them. The severity of the attacks can vary, however even mild conditions can be disruptive to your life. For an accurate diagnosis you must consult a doctor though. There are too many variables involved, and often times a person can be completely mislead by the symptoms. That is why it's best to see your doctor, and you actually may do that for the wrong reasons. The reasons and causes for panic attacks are as variable and sometimes as vague as the symptoms. So we will shed some light on the causes for panic attacks for your increased understanding.

For a lucky few, panic attacks only occur once. However, if these happen repeatedly then they need to analyzed to determine commonalities. Triggers could be found that are common to the person's environment. It is common of course, for panic attacks to actually be symptoms of other issues like phobias for example. Many associate the symptoms to a panic attack instead of the fear of something. Not all phobias, however, will cause a panic attack. Whether a panic attack occurs or not is usually related to the degree, or severity of the fear. The cause of panic attacks has not been conclusively determined by either medical professionals or psychologists. It appears that the mind helps or in fact induces the symptoms that are connected to the body. With this said, there is also a genetic component to panic attacks. For generations this phenomena can occur over and over in families. Just because you have one though doesn't mean it runs in your family.

However, it could still be a real medical condition that is causing your attacks. Direct physical causation can be the cause, due to an event in the body. If you feel that you are having, or have had, a panic attack, then it is highly recommended to see your doctor. Hyperthyroidism (not hype), hypoglycemia and some heart conditions related to valve closure are examples of medical issues that can cause panic attacks. When a person's thyroid gland is over-active hyperthyroidism results. The second condition, hypoglycemia, is a state of chronic low blood sugar.

Fully understanding the causes of panic attacks is not yet a reality, even though quite a few are understood. Naturally this can lead to a great deal of frustration if you do suffer from them. If you have not received any treatment of evaluation from a psychologist who specializes in panic attacks, then that is a possible course of action that may offer some help.
